Karen was born in the UK and travelled to Australia as a young child where her family settled in Canberra. Following High School, Karen spent time in the hospitality and travel industry, spending time working in ski resorts both here and overseas due to a love of the mountains and skiing. In the mid 90’s she enrolled in welfare studies as well as undertaking tertiary studies in social science. Karen then moved on to study social work in Canberra. After gaining tertiary qualifications Karen and her family moved to the Southern Highlands where she worked in a number of social work roles within Government and non Government organisations. In 2005 she was accredited as a Mental Health Social Worker and established her practice with offices in Campbelltown and Bowral. Karen later chose to focus on her Bowral practice as she wanted to maintain a small family friendly practice rather than move to a company structure. During this period of time Karen also worked within schools as a School Counsellor.
Karen is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and has been recognised by the Australian College of Social Workers (Clinical Division) as a Clinical Social Worker. Karen has undertaken further post graduate studies in Psychology.
